Overview

Softxpand Xpress is a software solution that turns any standard PC into up to eight independent workstations.

SoftXpand Xpress is specially adapted to meet high-end computing needs at the business environment. Each workstation operates totally independently and offers top performance and high flexibility. That means each user may run several heavy applications simultaneously, including, for example, a heavy graphic application, multi-media software, integrated learning systems and curriculum-oriented programs.

SoftXpand Xpress supports Windows XP^® Professional edition 32 bit or or Windows Server^® 2003.

SoftXpand Xpress is ideal for any type of organization (including education, SMBs, call centers, etc.).

How does it work?

SoftXpand Xpress expands the abilities of the source operating system (Windows XP Pro or Windows Server 2003) by creating multiple Windows desktop environments and allocating the installed input/output hardware devices to each desktop to allow up to eight users to log on to independent virtual workstations using their regular Windows/Domain user names and passwords.

SoftXpand Xpress solution doesn’t require any proprietary hardware and works with any standard, off-the-shelf devices. Multiple workstations, each consisting of monitor, keyboard and mouse are connected to a standard PC. SoftXpand Xpress offers many ways to connect the additional workstations. In most cases, the monitors are connected via video cards, while keyboards and mice are connected through USB hubs. If you are looking for easy plug and play deployment then you can use USB devices such as USB monitor and USB docking station instead of standard video cards. Moreover, SoftXpand Xpress works with USB over Ethernet devices allowing you to configure a SoftXpand workstation up to 100 meters from the host PC.

SoftXpand Xpress automatically allocates the PC's and video cards resources in order to create multiple workstations. SoftXpand Xpress uses each device in its native mode, enabling the workstation to support all the device's features, e.g. – A supported video card installed on a SoftXpand Host PC will enable the virtual workstation to utilize all supported features of that card (DirectX, Open GL) providing the best possible graphic performance.
