Display settings can be changed from:
- Within a SoftXpand session.
- From Windows, and will be applied on SoftXpand.
To change a SoftXpand Host’s display settings in Windows:
- Log on to Windows with an administrative user account.
- Go to Start > Control Panel < Display (or right-click the desktop and select Properties). The Display Properties dialog box will open.
Note: an "Invalid Display Settings” may appear. This message is the result of the SoftXpand virtual video driver and should be ignored. Click OK to close it. - In the Settings tab select the monitor whose setting requires changing.

- If the relevant monitor is not currently active, once selecting it, check the Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor checkbox and click Apply. The monitor will display Windows desktop.
Tip: use the Identify button to identify the monitor number. - Make any desired changes to the display settings, checking their implementation in the relevant monitor.
- When finished, click on OK in the Display Properties dialog box and confirm the "Invalid Display Settings” message again.
- Start SoftXpand.
To change a workstation display setting from within a SoftXpand workstation:
- Logon to a SoftXpand workstation.
- Right click the Workstation tray icon.
- Choose “Display settings”.
- Select the desired display setting and click OK.
Note: By default, change of resolution will require a logoff and logon back of the SoftXpand workstation.
Note: System administrators can hide the Workstation tray icon from users using the Admin Tools: Host properties – Workstation preferences tab.
