Following is the collective list of actions to take when installing SoftXpand. If this is the first time that you install SoftXpand it is recommended to read all ‘More Information’ links.
- Prepare a PC with at least two monitors and two sets of keyboards and mice.
Click here for further information: Hardware requirements. - Install an up to date (or finalize the preparation of) Windows XP Pro SP2/3 and all devices and applications.
Click here for further information: Software requirements. - Configure all required network environment (Domain membership, Windows/domain users, internet connection)

Note: by default, all user Windows user accounts being used in SoftXpand must have a password of at least 1 character. For information about how to enable blank passwords in SoftXpand logon, refer to Software requirements. - SoftXpand can be installed only with users that have administrative privileges (member in the Local Administrators Group).
- Download SoftXpand:

New to SoftXpand (required registration):
http://www.miniframe.com/try-buy/downloads.html. - Locate and run the SoftXpand installation file (SoftXpand file name: softxpand.exe)
- The SoftXpand Installation Wizard will open
- Once prompted, click next.
- Read and approve the Software License Agreement.
- When prompted to allow Hardware Installation, click Continue Anyway. The wizard will then finalize the installation.
- Click Finish to launch SoftXpand (reboot required for first time run).
- If you have a valid License you can activate SoftXpand. You can choose not to activate SoftXpand and it will continue to run for 30 Days.

Note: To activate SoftXpand online you must have internet connection or valid Email account.
Note: Manually Mapping Keyboards and Mice to Monitors As per the tip balloon on each Workstation's login screen, click the Ctrl+Shift+F(X) key combination, followed by simultaneously clicking both the left and right buttons of the relevant mouse.

Note: following the initial installation, all hardware devices are mapped to the primary Workstation (the station from which the installation was initiated). Allocate the hardware keyboards and mice to their designated Workstation (monitor) manually - as instructed above, or by using the Admin Tools – Device map.
