Host

The options included in the Host [Computer_Name] node apply to the global behavior of the Host and are all available under the Host context menu.

Note that the options are available at any given time - depending upon user privileges, the current desktop on which you are present (SoftXpand Xpress Workstation, Host Console) etc.

Note: For configuring individual Workstation behavior please refer to the Workstation section.

Right-click the Host [Computer_Name] node to open a context menu which will enable the following options:

·    Start Host
Select this option in order to start all SoftXpand Xpress Workstations.
By default, this option will open the SoftXpand Xpress Control Panel which enables you to start SoftXpand Xpress.
By selecting this option while SoftXpand Xpress is already running - all stopped Workstations will start (the ‘Enable auto start’ check box in Workstation Properties must be marked).

·    Shutdown SoftXpand
Select this option to open the ‘Shutdown SoftXpand Xpress’ dialog.

From the ‘Shutdown SoftXpand Xpress’ dialog choose the desired Exit action.

By using the ‘Shutdown SoftXpand Xpress’ dialog one the following 5 actions can be performed:

·    Logoff user

This option will be available only if a user is still logged on.

·    Shutdown my workstation

Only the current workstation will be switched off.

·    Exit to Windows
All Workstations will be stopped and all monitors will go blank except for the Windows’ Primary monitor which will display the Windows logon dialog.

·    Shutdown PC
The Host will shut down completely.

·    Restart PC
The Host will perform a computer restart.

·    Import and Export Settings...
Importing, exporting and re-setting SoftXpand Xpress configuration settings.
Select this option to open the Import and Export Settings Wizard. It offers the following options:

·    Export selected settings
Selecting this option enables exporting the settings of selected categories into a file.

·    Import selected settings
Selecting this option enables importing the settings of selected categories from a file.

·    Reset all settings
Select this option to reset all Host and settings to their default values.

Note: Import and Export settings are available at this moment only for Host settings and not for Workstation settings.

·    Run Program on Host
Select this option to run an executable file, a script or any other application remotely on the Host Console.
A ‘Run Program on Host’ dialog will appear, enabling browsing for the desired file and running it.

·    SoftXpand Logger

Select this option to open the SoftXpand logger utility which will enable you to generate a log file of SoftXpand activity mainly for troubleshooting purposes.

·    Open Host Console
Select this option to open a remote control session to SoftXpand Xpress`s Host Console.
For more information about SoftXpand Xpress Host Console please refer to Host Console.

·    Properties

Select this option to open the Host Properties dialog box (beginning with the Settings tab).

Note: Right clicking on the Host [Computer_Name] node while in Host Console (Windows session) will not show the ‘Open Host Console’ option, and will show only the Shutdown PC and Restart PC options in the ‘Shutdown SoftXpand Xpress’ dialog.
