Timothy Taufik Chowi, CTO at Inti Karya Teknologi (Jakarta, Indonesia), has implemented SoftXpand 2011 for the company's Graphic-Design studio:
The studio is based on multiple clusters, of 8 users each, using SoftXpand 2011 for Multi-Seat configuration.
Says Taufik:
"In the early tests I made, I tried 6 stations, all running heavy photoshop with absolutely no problem.In each workstation, we opened a big PSD file taking a bit over 2GB of RAM - CPU utilization was still at low 20%.
In comparison, I tried using Windows MultiPoint 2011, my only problem with this solution is that even when I have directly connected the stations, using the full potential of the Graphic Processing Unit (GPU), causing lag and stutters all over the place."
System Configuration:
- Motherboard: ASUS P8Z68 PRO GEN3
- CPU: I7 2600
- RAM: 16GB
- Video cards: 2 x ATI 6790 (total 8 ports), on-board video disabled.
- USB hub in each workstation, plus USB audio adapter.

The results:
- Less computers in the studio;
- Less Noise;
- Less heat;
- Lower electricity bills;
- Lower maintenance costs;
- More users;
